Children play on the Galle Face beach. In the background are two excavators carrying out the protective work on the breakwater of the Colombo Port City Project. All construction of the Colombo Port City came to a halt following the government’s official communication on March 6 to temporarily suspend the on-going work of the project, with immediate effect. However, the government later allowed the Chinese construction company to carry out the protective work on the already reclaimed land area.
