The Taxation Committee of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA) will be conducting its budget seminar on "Budget Highlights 2015 - Tax Proposal & Impact on Business" on Monday, October 27 from 1.30pm - 5.30pm at the Hotel Taj Samudra.
The focus of the seminar will be to highlight the important aspects of the Budget 2015 covering the economy and taxation with special emphasis on corporate and personal taxation, VAT and miscellaneous taxes and the impact of new taxes on business and the economy. It will be inaugurated by Ms. Wasanthi Manchanayake, Acting Commissioner General, Department of Inland Revenue and the welcome address will be delivered by Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, President, CMA. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. B.M.S. Batagoda, Deputy Secretary to Treasury, "Taxation Proposals" by D.R.S. Hapuarachchi, Commissioner, IRD and "Tax Implications" by N.R. Gajendran, Senior Partner, Gajma & Co. The panel discussion will be held at the end of the presentations and moderated by Feizal Samath, Business Editor, Sunday Times. The panellists are Basheer Ismail, Chairman, Taxation Committee, CMA & Partner,SJMS Associates; Duminda Hulangamuwa, Partner, Ernst & Young; Samantha Ranatunga, Managing Director / CEO, CIC Holdings PLC; Asoka Hettigoda, Managing Director, Siddhalepa Group and Hasitha Premaratne, Chief Financial Officer, Brandix Lanka Ltd.
