The Yala National Park, which was closed due to the dry climatic conditions, would be opened from today (16) six hours a day, the Wild Life Conservation Department said.
Accordingly the park would be kept open from 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.
For the benefit of spectators the viewing time would be limited to a few hours considering the situation inside the park as adequate rain had not been experienced in recent times, the park’s Director General, H.D. Ratnayake said.
He also said that tourists who entered the park should leave it before 12.00 noon.
He further said that drinking water would be provided to the animals using bowsers as sufficient rainfall had not been experienced in those areas as yet. (Diana Udayangani)
