Gillian Anderson case suspect released on bail

The  Army Captain who was in remand custody on charges of having misappropriated Rs.17.8 million from the Sri Lankan properties owned by popular X-files actress Gillian Anderson was released on strict bail by a Colombo Court today. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

    He was actually a volunteer second leftenant who was dismissed from the army for stealing parts. Clearly the nature of this man is to make a living from stealing not only from innocent foreign investors but also from his own countrymen (at a time when the Country was embroiled in a terrible war).
