Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena himself had to experience the malpractices of private pharmacies that put unsuspecting patient’s lives at risk when a pharmacy near the Castle Street Maternity Hospital issued a wrong drug to a prescription given to the Minister on Saturday, a spokesman said.

The pharmacy was later raided and found red handed doing the same and promptly blacklisted by a team headed by the National Drugs and Cosmetics Devices Authority Chairman Dr. Hematha Benaragama on the instructions of Minister Sirisena. (SAJ)
