WPC 2015 Budget passed

The 2015 Budget of the Western Provincial Council was passed today by a majority of 14 votes with 55 members voting in favour and 41 against.

 

A Democratic Party Councillor who joined the ruling United Peoples Freedom Alliance voted in favour of the budget while councillors belonging to the United National Party, Democratic Party and the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna voted against.

 

Eight councillors including Mano Ganeshan and three from the Jathika Hela Urumaya were not present at the voting. (YP)
