The Tamil National Alliance (TNA), yesterday, questioned the silence of India on the rift within the government of Sri Lanka over the attempt to abolish the 13th Amendment to the Constitution.

TNA MP V. Saravanapavan, speaking during the debate on the second reading the Budget, said his party was very suspicious about the way the Indian government was handling the issue.

Mr. Saravanapavan said there should be active intervention by India to resolve the national issue and thus ensure the rights of the Tamil community. “The 13th Amendment was India’s baby and, therefore, it should play a role in convincing the Sri Lankan government not to repeal it,” he said. Because she has troubles of her own at the present time. High TNA paid her another visit!

Today's moderate indian leaders are wiser. They know whom you TNA tiger proxies truly represent. Definitely not for the common interests of innocent tamils who were fooled by prabakaran & tamil leaders for an illusive eelam which brought them only misery for 30 years. its time TNA realise that this country belongs not only to tamils but also to muslims & sinhalese majority with who they have to work out an amicable solution fair to all. Not by bullying or by terror. 13A or + was Dead On Arrival as it was forced on us by indians as JRJ didnt have a backbone to say no to india. We need a practical solution based on today's realities.

Sri Lankan's Tamils are having a miscalculation about India , India is not a tamil state , Tamils are not even 5% of them .Muslims are around 30% to 35% , Overall Hindu are around 40% , Tamil speaking community with Muslims , Christains , etc is around 5% of the population . These TNA culprits think India will be behind them always , it is a misconcept . Those days they supported Tamils on the interest of Russia to avoid American influence in Sri Lanka . Today Russsia is a good friend of Sri Lanka. Things changed except the attitude of TNA.

You are now challenging India too. Then if the PC system prevails are you not having any issues with Tamils? No you all want to separate Sri Lanka. That can not be achieved as far as Mahind Rajapakse is holding presidency.

Keep crying INDIA! INDIA!! INDIA!!! and all your peoples problems will be solved. Get real man and get a life at-least now for the sake of our tamil brethren whom you represent. Your problems, if any, as citizens of Sri Lanka should be discussed and resolved with all parties represented in Parliament of SL and NOT INDIA. India can do NOTHING and WILL DO NOTHING. That's the harsh truth and the bitter pill that you got to swallow!!!!

Perhaps, India has realized even at this late stage, that it cannot go on interfering in its neighbours' affairs as it has more than enough problems in its own hands.

If it is true that India backs out, it seriously questions their integrity.

    Nodrog Tuesday, 13 November 2012 12:13 PM

Then why was the TNA in and out of the Chinese embassy? Playing one against the other?

    Lobo Tuesday, 13 November 2012 12:14 PM

They are the same clowns that went to the Chinese for intervention and now running back to the Indians because the Chinese refused to interfere.
