Well-known drug kingpin Samantha Kumara Alias Wele Suda, who is in CID custody, was produced before the Colombo High Court this morning.

The Court allowed the CID to detain the suspect and three others under detention order until March 23, as the CID informed the Court that they need more time to question him.

Wele Suda was arrested in Pakistan and brought to Sri Lanka on February 14 by the CID in connection with a large number of cases connected to the drug dealings.

But why is Duminda being investigated for money laundering ( a lesser charge than drugs) than for complicity in drugs which carries a death sentence. CID manupulating things obviously.

We should not try to comment on CID affairs, it is highly professional and secret service. Let them do there job independently. We should force politicians not to interfere with these, they are the most worst people. All these criminals were under their protection up to now. So, we must use our head than feelings.

Politicians are sharks, they know how to get what they want directly from these criminals while publicly showing abhorrence to crimes and drugs. Wele Suda has spent millions on UPFA party members, through various channels. Many Police Officers have also been trapped by these politicians thus they do not want to move too much on the case as this will implicate them too.

This new government needs to shape up before the people lose confidence in it. Very few big wigs have been arrested so far and things seem to be ON HOLD. Come on guys wake up quickly.

It seems procedure taking too long. Look like every body is interested in the procedure more than the result. While the public sector is all out to follow the procedure, private sector is more interested in results than procedure.People always need to see results and this is the main reason why public sector is often criticized by people.People are gradually getting fed up of being waited to see results. If anyone try to explain people that this is good governance then people will ask for results and not good governance in the future.

The main drug dealing politicians in Sri Lanka, should be tried and jailed. They should be given bigger sentences as they are representative of the people, irrespective of which party they are in.

Better arrest BIG SHOTS when nearing the elections. Otherwise, they get bail and get sympathy from people because people of Sri Lanka are soft minded. That is clear from past that most murderes are in parliment.

This is a special message for all journalist and media specialist. At present you are only highlighting the vast amount of money earned by drug dealers.Younger generation of this country will consider dealing with drugs as a good way of earning lots of money.I look at Srilankan TV AND NEWSPAPERS from abroad.I can see people talking about all sorts of Things. They keep talking and arguing about why these drug dealers are not punished. However they do not realise that while they talk about these people and how they have become so rich and powerful , these stories might influence the young children to follow that path. Please use your valuable time and skill to highlight the danger of these drugs to individuals and society. I would llike to see TV programmes revealing the misery of drug addicts and what the government doing to help these people.
