    Monday, 25 January 2010 01:33 PM

What about the Private Sector? Others are granted a holiday and the private/mercantile sector is discriminated again.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 01:34 PM

In most developed countries Election day or the day after is NOT a holiday.
Why do we need yet another holiday? in the land of Lotus eaters!!!

    Monday, 25 January 2010 01:35 PM

Menaka, Do not Imagin, let him come to power to see how bad it is compaired MR regim

    Monday, 25 January 2010 02:22 PM

Mr. Lakshitha; thanks a lot in trying to enlightning me according to your thinking; whilst respecting your right of belief please allow me to forge forward in my own way of reasoning. But please note that I do not condone each and everything of the present regime. Only I have serious doubts on the consequent "Change". At the end of the day we all have to win; cause we never depend on politicians for any favours. All the best to you.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 04:28 PM

Not a Holiday for Thugs !.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 12:48 AM

noticed that a lot more people are worried about a holiday on Wednesday rather that the future of the country, its this very approach that's seem to have in this mess in the first place, settling for mediocrity.Lets hope there's an end to violence and lawlessness first, I feel corruption may take a little longer.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 05:05 AM

how do you know? no one knows!

    Monday, 25 January 2010 08:47 AM

Wake up Hen Ling. UNP vote base is larger than that of SLFP and allies historically. They are not extremists either; thats why they supported who ever they thought would do good; even to MR. Now with a proper alternative, and with the obvious disillusionment, Wednesday would see the real overwhelming majority of Sri Lankan party base in favor of UNP.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 07:45 AM

Let people celebrate the victory of SF reverse your decision

celebrations will be viaolent free we want peace.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 07:51 AM

    ane.. ethakota api???

    Monday, 25 January 2010 08:00 AM

25 years ago when the opposition politicians were showing a loaf of bread to the public from a election plat form the argument was a poor person will not be able to afford this loaf of bread in the future the way the govt was going on at that time.

Today low income eats one a day where as the middle income people eats twice a day

Meals for three times a day have become a luxury in our country

If the country goes like this 20% population will die due to starvation and malnutrition another 40% will be able barely afford only a meal a daily after meeting all the bills

Country is going to a disaster unless corruption is stopped

    Monday, 25 January 2010 08:00 AM

Its as if the private sector doesnt exist.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 08:04 AM

dear hen, stop clucking please. what has HE done since LTTE were crushed? His clan has robbed this country and the only hope of some justice for the people is to dot the rot on 26th. Be careful with your chewing gum. Perhaps you could switch to Betel leaves after the 26th for free. cheers!

    Monday, 25 January 2010 08:27 AM

No vote for MR if private sector dont get this

    Monday, 25 January 2010 08:42 AM

    Monday, 25 January 2010 10:17 AM

SF will definitely be in the President's Office on this day. This hoilday is not applicable to him.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 10:34 AM

I agree with Steve's comment on starvation

who an afford the basic food items in this country except the guyes who lives in pure bribes and basic gov salery

    Monday, 25 January 2010 10:43 AM

The big hype created by SF "exhaust fans" will come to zero with the results on 27th. We'll celebrate the victory for mother lanka and defeat for foreign funded "hate & revange" brigade.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 10:47 AM
