Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe speaking a short while ago at the Protest held by UNP Parliamentarians in Hulftsdorp said that what the country needs is Democracy Plus. “Today everything is politicised, the police, the judiciary and everything else has been politicised by the current regime. The people don’t have the freedom enshrined in the constitution and this is nothing but a total dictatorship, as parliamentarians we must, and we will continue to fight this,” he said

Speaking at the protest Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa said that the current regime has failed in all aspects. “The government has messed everything up, they have put the General who led the war in prison illegally and we will fight till he is released,” he said. (Farook Thajudeen)

Do it right religiously the way Maldives did it, sure the outcome will be the same.

People can do wonders, but it has to be done with focus and commitment tirelessness, thats how Maldives achieved the change

We should learn from Maldives. President Nasim is great gentleman, no more fighting, no more problem, never have thought sit in chair as a leader. very decently he resigned. As long as Mr, Ranil is as a leader in the UNP party, we can not expect a good democracy. If we need a leadership change in opositon and should appoint a strong man unlike Ranil. Then definitely we can expect new democray. What we have is now DEMO-CRAZY
