Ward system would delay LG election: MR

Speaking to Newspaper Editors President Mahinda Rajapaksa said today that the reason the local government elections are not being held under the ward system as expected was because it would have taken a long time to re-demarcate wards and put in place the mechanism needed to hold elections under that system.
