Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe must take the responsibility for the controversial sale of Central Bank Bonds as long as Arjuna Mahendran holds the post of CB Governor, Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) General Secretary and Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said.

He said the Anti-Corruption Committee headed by the Prime Minister was biased when it came to several incidents including the Bond sales, the floating armoury, Avant Garde and RADA.

“The ministers including me and Minister Rajitha Senaratne opposed the appointment of Mr. Mahendran but the Prime Minister said it was one of his decisions and he will handle it,” the minister said.

He said the United National Party (UNP) alone could not have helped President Maithripala Sirisena to win the presidency if not for the support of the JHU.

“But today the UNP behaves as if this is a UNP government,” he said. (LSP)

You can talk nonsense but now people know who Patali is.Time is not correct for you to become prime minister. Wait some time

    malij Monday, 18 May 2015 02:39 PM

Dear Minister! First of all, Arjun Mahendra was not found guilty by the committee appointed to investigate the problem. If you are not satisfied, then, with the others who are not satisfied, you can ask for a parliamentary select committee to investigate the matter again.First, the Governor has to be held responsible to point a finger at the PM.Hence, stop throwing mud at people. The PM with all his faults, is not a thief like your former boss. He is one guy, who is clean in the present set up. I can remember even your former colleague Wimal Weerawansa had given RW a clean slate sometime back in the parliament, before he joined hands with the former boss.

    Rajani Monday, 18 May 2015 03:04 PM

His speech reveals that the general election is very nigh.

    Rajani Monday, 18 May 2015 03:06 PM

These guys are opportunists and will not hesitate to contest under Rajapaksas in the coming elections.

    theif Monday, 18 May 2015 02:58 PM

I agree with 1000% and well said. former boss is no 1 thief

    Jaya Monday, 18 May 2015 03:04 PM

    gihan Monday, 18 May 2015 07:05 PM

All end up with the floating armoury, Avant Garde.Still safeguard the people who played the scene behind......

    Nish Monday, 18 May 2015 07:15 PM

UNP should have alone in the presidencial election then.

Liberal One Monday, 18 May 2015 03:14 PM
