Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) Chief V. Gopalswamy, also known as Vaiko has slammed the Sri Lankan government for oppressing and colonising its Tamil minority community.
Talking to reporters here, Vaiko termed the Sri Lankan government as 'racist' and accused them of committing mass genocide against the Tamils.
"The Sri Lankan racist government is deliberately trying to strangulate the Tamil race. Therefore the state aided colonisation is being continued. In the traditional Tamil areas, the Sinhalese are brought and settled there, therefore the Tamil race which has been subjected to genocide, barbaric genocidal attacks by the Sri Lankan armed forces. The Sri Lankan racist government should be put in the dock," said Vaiko.
He also criticised the Indian government for assisting the Sri Lankan government in the mass genocide and urged the International Criminal Court to take action against the federal governments of both the countries.
"We will never forgive the betrayal of the Union government of India. Their assistance to the Sri Lankan government, which committed the crime of genocide, should be put in the dock of the International Criminal Court," he added.
The Sri Lankan government crushed the LTTE in May 2009 after the latter waged a war against the government, which lasted for almost twenty-five years.
They demanded the creation of a separate state for the Tamil minority, which represented about 15 percent of the island nation's 21 million people. (Source: ANI)
Part of this is true and other part distorted. But the man who accuses S/L of genocidal and racist is himself the biggest Tamil racist and ardent Tiger Supporter.

Wake up Vaiko! Conflict is over. Let the Tamil and Sinhalese get on and build their nation. Tamils are better cared for in Sri Lanka than Tamil Nadu.

To show your love to these Tamil people what could you offer. They need schools, investment in small industries, roads, housing, boats, security from the civil defense and bus services.

Don't waste your breath, Viper, oops sorry, Vaiko. The next election is years away. By the way, which side are you on , on Telangana issue ?

What nonsense: he does not like settling Sinhalese in North and East but wants the Tamils to live anywhere in the South. Vaiko surely is one of the biggest jokers ever to come out of India.

Just because an Indian state was in the 1960s named to be Tamil Nadu it doesn't mean it is their sole homeland. The Tamil or pre-Tamil have been on the island for at least over 2000 years, possibly even before the birth of the Sinhala nation. The Tamil civilization may very well have developed on the both sides of the Palk strait. Tamils are home here.
