The ruling UPFA government claims the so called disappearance of a journalist attached to Lanka e News web site is a “staged drama” and has lodged a complaint over this with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mahinda Balasuriya.

We have evidence to prove this and we produced the evidence to the IGP, Minister Susil Premajantha said. (S.D)

Abudctions and 'white vans' - this era will soon end and life will prevail, as it should, in our Buddhist country!

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 06:56 AM

That is their standard response whenever there is an abduction. At the end of the day, the CID or the Police will say he was "arrested". For God's sake, it is high time this sort of harassment is stopped for ever in this country.

Why can't Government or its police or the CID or the forces trace the man, because the say they have evidence and produce him in court or at a news conference. Seeing is believeing!

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 12:45 AM

Agreed. The Govt must be thinking we are Japanese performing Hara Kiri. They must be thinking all citizens of this country are idiots.

    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 12:43 AM

    Monday, 25 January 2010 02:57 PM

Life in Sri Lanka is a Drama isn't It, and all Politicians are Stage Actors. The Population, I have to be hard on them, are Very Gullible and Foolish and Often absolutly and Plain Stupid, Our Sri Lankan folly, pain and anguish is a result of this, Sri Lanka's suffering since indepence, proves that all this is so very true. The only solution for Sri Lanka is to forget all party Politics and proceed toward forming a National Government, With Proffessionals implementing proper policies toward making our nation part of the Global Village, right now we seem be Wallowing in our own Garbage and suffering dearly for it.
Polics really stinks in our country and if it is tolerated further it will create far more tensions and pain than we can immagine, after all the Conflict for 30 years was initially caused by them, due to selfish and petty minded Decisions made by these Play actors.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 02:54 PM

Don't worry Mr Minister, it is for a Green Card.

    Monday, 25 January 2010 02:34 PM

To be able to convincingly say that he was not abducted, only proves that they were behind previous abductions!!!
