Krishanthy Atapattu Tuesday, 07 September 2010 11:48 PM

Who are the voters who voted for them?

    Hara Tuesday, 07 September 2010 11:56 PM

Shame on them and shame on the people who voted for them!

    Gamarala Tuesday, 07 September 2010 11:57 PM

It is highly unethical to have them elected to betray their constituents.

    Wijebahu Wednesday, 08 September 2010 01:13 AM

Is this Democracy? The government never got a 2/3rds majority from the people. They have accumulated the 2/3rds by dodgy methods like this. Shame! Shame! Shame!

    Michael Wednesday, 08 September 2010 01:23 AM

The people who voted for them are perfect idiots! They deserve the government they get!

    Lokubandara Wednesday, 08 September 2010 01:37 AM

    - Who said she doesn't know politics?

    Bakamoona Wednesday, 08 September 2010 04:14 AM

She became an MP thanks to JVP and UNP. How can she betray those people ?

    Obama Wednesday, 08 September 2010 04:18 AM

For devolution of power, this 18th amendment should be passed.

    basi Tuesday, 07 September 2010 11:27 PM

Why have the Sri Lankan People failed to send professionals to parliament?

    Mr.Concern Wednesday, 08 September 2010 04:26 AM

There is a saying "The country gets the leaders it deserves".
    We voted for our leaders.
    It is our decison!!!!

    Disgusted Wednesday, 08 September 2010 05:43 AM

    1) Does Upeksha know what is there on the Amendment? From her interview in 360 in Derana, I dont think so..
    2) Today will be the end of Democracy in Sri Lanka.. 3) Ranil needs to now step down.. big time.. People need to help reconstruct the UNP...
    4) Can't there be a 'Janamatha Wimasuma' about the 18th amendment???

    gloria Wednesday, 08 September 2010 05:44 AM

.... its the only job anyone can apply!! so what else can we expect ???

    Sue Wednesday, 08 September 2010 06:20 AM

Just because they are angry and fed up with Ranil is no reason for them to vote for the 18th Amendment which any fool can see will be the end of Democracy. Actually, these people were simply waiting for an opportunity to get on the band wagon and Ranil's pig headedness gave them the perfect opportunity.

Mr Serious Wednesday, 08 September 2010 06:45 AM

Go away Ranil.. Just disappear.. please i beg of you.. GO!

    Hash Wednesday, 08 September 2010 08:34 AM

    Because they were not contesting

    Dayaratne Monday, 13 September 2010 03:41 PM

Shame on them, but pity the victims.

jim jam Tuesday, 07 September 2010 03:16 PM

This clearly shows that many UNP'ers are embittered due to the lackluster leadership of Ranil and not to forget the infighting between Sajith and Ravi etc

    shane Tuesday, 07 September 2010 02:39 PM

This is what happening when there r pepole like this who have no idea about politics...

    M.H.Sheriff Tuesday, 07 September 2010 02:43 PM

    Money talks.

    Minister Tuesday, 07 September 2010 02:43 PM

Why not send Upeksha to Dilky to learn about what the Constitution of Sri Lanka means?

Bluff Bluff Tuesday, 07 September 2010 02:45 PM

Ooh! Do you mean to say now its only the leader left in the UNP?

    Babanis Tuesday, 07 September 2010 02:47 PM

Well Ranil, you have no control of you party and its elected members. Do you still think you are the leader of the UNP. Sir, time to pack up and leave, honorably.

    nishantha Tuesday, 07 September 2010 02:54 PM

PABA II Coming sooon ... ;)

    A Sri Lankan Tuesday, 07 September 2010 03:00 PM

Forget about Ranil. Forget about UNP. What do the Sri Lankans who voted for these people feel now? Isn't this betrayal at the highest level possible? I have some sympathy for Ranil.

    Rajitha Tuesday, 07 September 2010 03:09 PM

    maybe he should switch too

    Ranjan Tuesday, 07 September 2010 02:35 PM

Will you be able to go before your voters, FULLY DRESSED, and explain them WHY you voted for the amendment??

    Man B Tuesday, 07 September 2010 03:31 PM

    she is a good actress

    Serenity Tuesday, 07 September 2010 06:37 PM

+ I doubt she even knows what "Amendment" means!

    deyyiya Tuesday, 07 September 2010 08:32 PM

Now all she needs to do is act in a porn movie ...

    Dorothy Tuesday, 07 September 2010 09:07 PM

Candidates should resign, if they wish to change their stand! With every passing day people are made to feel more powerless by such actions, on the part of of those elected!

    Lucky Tuesday, 07 September 2010 09:08 PM

The UNP fielded these candidates for easy votes - now paying the price for it!

    KJ Tuesday, 07 September 2010 09:38 PM

Now its ... PowerCRAZY and MoneyCRAZY!

    seneka Tuesday, 07 September 2010 10:06 PM

How could the public trust people like this?
