UNP to agitate

A group of UNP members, leftist parties in the opposition including the New Left Front led by Dr. Wickramabahu Karunaratne, United Socialist Party led by Siritunga Jayasuriya and the Free Media Movement have teamed up to form a movement against the constitutional reforms.

The group is to launch a civil disobedience campaign on September 8 when the constitutional reforms are debated in Parliament.

UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekera said the several government ministers are also in discussion with them to come out against the proposed reforms. (YP)
