UNP suspends five members

The UNP today suspended the membership of MPs Range Bandara, P. Thevarapperuma, A. Abeysinghe and two other UNP provincial councillors charging that they had attended Thursday’s Hyde Park Rally despite the UNP asking them not to do so, a party official said.

UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told Daily Mirror, the letters informing them of their suspension have been sent to them. He said the party had also decided to suspend the membership of 15 more members soon.

Serves them right. If one joins any organization, including a political party, one is expected to follow its rules and regulations and if one wants to have his own way, then he is completely free to go away. Being in the membership and challenging it openly is definitely a no-no.

Sirisena, lets be practical. Is it RW's fault that UNP didnt come to power? Who is responsible for UNP's mess today? Its non other than Mr Jayasooriya. What the deputy leader Mr S Premadasa's contribution apart from cutting grass under his boss' feet? We dont which side Dayasiri is in, yes?
It must be a colletive efforts of every member of the party but what they are doing?
There is no option other than kick the people out when found guilty, insubordination and for sabotage.
