Ranil will still want to be the leader of the party even after loosing the election. Same as before.
dpl Friday, 14 January 2011 03:57 PM
MR Ranil is very weak as a leader of the UNP. whether MR Pramadasa is suit for the leader of the UNp ?
Afker Hussain Friday, 14 January 2011 02:29 PM
patch up difference today only for Cracks to appear later..A new leader during the run up to the polls will rejuvenate the people .
Warner Friday, 14 January 2011 07:53 AM
Yeah Hats off to Hon.Mr.Sajith Premadasa show the world that UNP is back on sadle and winning back in to power
robinson Friday, 14 January 2011 06:03 AM
Yes, you are right. All cried party reforms. And now they are buying time because they know what ever they do, it will not work.
Daya Friday, 14 January 2011 05:36 AM
Magnanimous of Sajith to compromise. But can we be so shameless as to vote for party headed by born loser, Ranil?
anjeewa Friday, 14 January 2011 04:48 AM
Sajith U were trapped by Ranil by this move. Don't continue with
" Asai Bayai Approach". There is a famous Sinhalese saying "YAKADE RATH UNAMA THALANNA". Now yakade is RED HOT... Otherwise U'l be eliminated.
Citizen Friday, 14 January 2011 04:44 AM
Is it correct to blame only Ranil for the repeated setbacks of the party. Apart from the political climate and the war situation in the country, other office bearers are also equally responsible. why couldnt the others organise themselves for success. Even Sajith alone will not be able to resurect the Party. I think the soniors including Sajith should organise themselves under Ranil, without rocking the boat for personal gains.
chula Friday, 14 January 2011 03:41 AM
It is expected that UNP will win a considerable amount of the councils...that will strengthen the position of RW.
pasha Friday, 14 January 2011 03:30 AM
sajith knows he cant do anything for making thier vote base to more than 25% in this coming poll. so he like stay behind and will criticise Ranil after the election is lost. why should not he lead the party in this election and making it a victorious. he knows he cant
aiya@malli.ca Friday, 14 January 2011 03:29 AM
Unity will provide better results than relying on a single person's popularity which has been the menace in Sri Lankan politics.
Sumal Friday, 14 January 2011 03:20 AM
Obviously Sajith do not want to lose and make it inauspicious. He wants to add another failure to Ranil, what a strategy.
Praveen Friday, 14 January 2011 02:33 AM
Aiyo Ranil now enough. You are expired. Give Sajith the chance.. Wadinnam..
KD Thursday, 13 January 2011 11:42 PM
UNP patches up differences for polls - Then start fighting again. Very promising.
terence Thursday, 13 January 2011 02:44 PM
That's just what the Govt wanted; to avoid Sajith taking over before LG polls. The election is seen as an impediment to Sajith's progress for immediate lleadership
gona Thursday, 13 January 2011 10:37 PM
So he can have a good fight with RW after the election??? U can fool some of the people some of the time ..........................
Better move to Canada.
Over the Top Thursday, 13 January 2011 08:10 PM
Another routing for the UNP. Suggest all anti-government voter vote for the JVP. This will be to male Ranil realize he is a parasite for the UNP.
I Hussein Thursday, 13 January 2011 06:26 PM
Sajith should have taken over the leadership even though UNP wouldnt win. New leadership under Sajith would give a boost to the party and ceetaily UNP will gain grounds and that will change many minds.
However unity is good and his patience will pay off later if not sooner.
Royalist Thursday, 13 January 2011 05:43 PM
It will take a lot of thick skin to patch up the Elephant!
Hareesz Thursday, 13 January 2011 04:59 PM
Good luck anyway.
Jagath Thursday, 13 January 2011 03:59 PM
What a pathetic situation. This is exactly what Ranil wanted.
UNP will never raise it's head. Finished for ever
DSR-Neckar Thursday, 13 January 2011 03:59 PM
Very wise move by Sajith. You have lots of time to become a leader. Do not destroy your image at this critical juncture. Let Ranil & company to destroy the UNP completely within next couple of years. Then you can build new UNP and lead to victory.
KHKaru Thursday, 13 January 2011 03:37 PM
......and everybody lived happily thereafter. End of the story (or is it fairy tale?)
suwantha Thursday, 13 January 2011 03:09 PM
any how the curent leader has just ruined the party.it needs a good strong leadership to defeat boasting MR.
suwantha Thursday, 13 January 2011 03:06 PM
you are right MR SAJITH.otherwise RANIL will say under your leadership you have dragged the party in to the defeat.
Yehiya-Doha Thursday, 13 January 2011 03:01 PM
we dont know what the seniors doing in UNP.
pandula Thursday, 13 January 2011 02:53 PM
Wisely, He pass the ball to Ranin coz if UNP loss His leadership will be the begining of a end.
JUNIOR CITIZEN Thursday, 13 January 2011 02:48 PM
