What is government, who is incharge?
Voter Sunday, 30 March 2014 01:58 PM
The results prove that there is no party that is invincible. Invincibility is only a myth. Genuine and democratic changes are needed in the GOP to bring those disillusioned party members who did not cast their votes. It is high time born losers are packed home to provide an alternative to the coalition. Until this becomes a reality we can say adios to the aspirations of the majority of Sri Lankans who want a change for the betterment of the society. via DM iPad app

Congrats. UNP, being single handedly fared very well. If UNP formed an alliance in future, it could sweep elections

Can change this government, Next government must be good coz all will b good
Calistus Jayatilleke Sunday, 30 March 2014 11:09 AM
Ominous signs that the CHANGE when it comes, will come from the intelligent, educated people from Colombo.
Wijesinghe Sunday, 30 March 2014 11:24 AM
Compared to other cities you get highest number of educated people in Colombo.
Regi Sunday, 30 March 2014 07:55 AM
Colombo, especially Central Colombo is still the stronghold of UNP

Wait to see the polls analysis by the likes of Wansa, P. Lee, Susil, Seeniboley, Gama. They will twist and turn to claim that it was the greatest victory ever given to Lokka by the electorate. via DM iPad app

It is not any education level. It is the ethnicity. Look at the demographic factor of those areas.
Kotte, Kaduwela, Maharagama, Kesbewa, Dehiwala, Ratmalana are education level higher areas in the district.

Colombo slums are a minority but they also have educated people compared to out colombo. they remain slums because of cost of living and housing and being caught in a vicious cycle.
Maharagama, Kaduwela is not exactly Colombo population is it. is is a large village close to colombo. has a very minority of educated people. walk the streets and you will meet nine out of ten people with lower level of education than metro colombo. sad but reality

Just because few people in Colombo voted against the PA, its not going to crumble and there is no change....its the normal voting pattern other than the communal card being played by Mano Ganesan led DPF has got them more votes this time....a dangerous trend...
People have voted for the PA in a landslide in all other areas.
SK Sunday, 30 March 2014 06:39 AM
Great to see DPF Mano Ganesan's party has increased their votes in Colombo area. Colombo Tamil peoples voted very wisely. Good move by them... :)

Every vote is given based on RACE! Even the parties divided people based on RACE. Worst politics.
