The UNP has decided to take disciplinary action against UNP Member of Parliament Abdul Cader for voting with the government at the emergency debate in Parliament yesterday, UNP Chief Organizer John Amarartunga told Daily Mirror online.

He said that the UNP MP had voted in favor of extending the emergency by another month despite the party taking a policy decision to vote against it. The disciplinary committee will meet to decide on the action to be taken against the MP.

The UNP profess to have the best legal team, economic team, corporate team and what not. Yet they have not won a single case against defectors ! So will be Carder's verdict.

Did the UNP take any action against the UNPer who attacked Ranga Bandara, or are they going to?

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 03:07 PM

I agree with Dayarathna, kick him out. Pary reforms are vitel.
Take action against the criminal who assault Ranga Bandara.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 02:34 PM

Without Ranil who can be the UNP leader? Is Sajith Or Ravi have a clean track recoard publicly or personally ? so why all these nonsense ?

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 02:15 PM

Cheap = not costly. Ranil has not cost the country 5 cents when it comes to robbing. So in a way you're right!

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 02:08 PM

This action too will end up in smoke unless UNP adopts a Democratic Contitution!!!

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 02:03 PM

Another 'Gemba' waiting to jump. Mr. President can't you see!!!

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 01:46 PM

May be Mr.Cader feels that the upcountry itself is unsafe than earlier unless the emergency law was not imposed.....who knows....?

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 01:36 PM

UNP leaders ...please wake up from slumber and stand up with a backbone.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 01:35 PM

Cader Nana i never thought your actions will bring such a big ha..ho....insidde UNP.......

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 01:26 PM

Cader was voted in by UNP supporters. Let him resign & recontest to prove what he did was correct

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 12:09 PM

Your comments prove that you devotes RW, hates MR but not a real UNPyer.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 10:49 AM

Cader did it last month too but no action taken. It is high time the UNP showed these cheap politicians that there is something called party discipline and members are expected to be bound by it. There should be some system to kick this type of pole vaulters so that they stand to lose their seats in the Parliament. That is the only way one could teach such ungratefuls a lesson.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:34 AM

you are absolutely correct MKS. and Ranil is the reason for opposition MPs to act like this. not only cader more will follow in the future. even at that point the UNP leadership will blame them instead of analyzing what really has happend/is happening to UNP

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:30 AM

The Vauxhall Street and the Gampola Kanji case is looming thats why he is tryiing to cross over. OK. let him enjoy because this will be the last time he will be elected. by the people..

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:24 AM

Cader openly said that he would vote with the govt. Disciplinary action should have been taken at that instant itself. UNP leadership should not be that lenient. Get rid of all oppunists. UNP doesnt deserve them. Cader is anyway not a winner, People in Kandy voted for the party not to him.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:20 AM

Ranils problem is, "He is too keen to stay with UNP", when all of us wants him go.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:18 AM

Take action and throw him out for others to learn a lesson.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:14 AM

An M.P. can vote according to his conscience - but not on this issue. Yes, kick him out, but also start reforming the Party.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:12 AM

You talk about cheap politicians - lets start with Ranil!!!

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:11 AM

mr.president why dont you give him a chance. he is trying so much to impress you.
poor fellow. he is very much concerned about the people of this country....ha ha ha

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 11:06 AM

who is going to take action?? presently no proper leadership! Ranga Bandara is crying in the parliament!

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 10:50 AM

At last action is being taken.

    Thursday, 10 June 2010 10:49 AM

This is not the first time he voted with the government. This is a banana republic. He has no self respect, dignity or reputation. He proved that he can do anything for perks.
