We should have debate on how those socalled British army killed our innocent children during colonial period

    Wije Monday, 13 September 2010 11:30 AM

Very true. British did the damage from the very first time they invaded Sri Lanka. So what debate now?

    Siriwardena Monday, 13 September 2010 11:27 AM

They won't discuss at all but the number has gone over 800,000. They are still killing saying terrorism. As if they cannot protect their borders.

marcus fernando Monday, 13 September 2010 08:34 AM

    it is too late now

    Faqi Monday, 13 September 2010 07:41 AM

Jayasiri - The day we do not have to go with the begging bowl to countries such a Britain, then we could say what we want until then we have to ear humble pie. We depend on Britain for our exports of tea , garments and British tourists, training programs and so forth.

    Buwa Monday, 13 September 2010 06:38 AM

Next time they will debate how to tie Bin Laden to a tree.............

    GKA Monday, 13 September 2010 06:37 AM

    Nandimithra Monday, 13 September 2010 05:27 AM

But all those who decry the British & their govt. in their comments, will be more than glad to go there and reside given the smallest chance. What hypocrites we are !!!

    rosh Monday, 13 September 2010 05:21 AM

what about the millions of various deaths under the british colonial ruling?

    rohan Monday, 13 September 2010 04:07 AM

Oh God, We are such a glorious country and feel proud to be a Sri Lankan as we are the only country who could get rid of terrorism totally.

jim jam Monday, 13 September 2010 05:12 AM

I think the developed world is facinated by SL and the First Family hence all the attention on the guise of discussing plight of tamils which incidentally has improved drastically

    Jayasiri Monday, 13 September 2010 05:01 AM

British hands off Sri lanka. Down with Britian. Our MPs should debate over millions of civilian deaths by the British army in Iraq and Afghanistan

    Jayasiri Monday, 13 September 2010 05:00 AM

British hands off Sri Lanka. Down with Britian!

    p.wijesekera Monday, 13 September 2010 04:59 AM

The British Parliament can debate anyy subject. What they are debating is the future of their relations with Sri Lanka and whether they wish to have relations with a rogue state.

Jim Dougal Monday, 13 September 2010 04:53 AM

Oh God indeed.....Judging by the number of defence personnel and police still highly visible on the streets of Colombo, the Gov does not exactly give the impression of terrorism being eliminated 'totally'. And with Mervyn reinstated and the President now with literally unlimited power of life and death over every citizen some sections of the community may wonder if the country is not facing a new form of terrorism.

A Democratic Honorable State shows transparency and legality in its actions to her citizens. A state that is elected democratically but tacitly practices illegality is not only a disgrace internationally but also a shame on the citizens it represents.

    M.ASHRAFF NAZIM Monday, 13 September 2010 04:25 AM

BRITISH GOVT IS INVITING SRI LANKA FOR TUTION CLASSES

    Rala Monday, 13 September 2010 04:18 AM

Why don't they debate on their own problems????? They don't have any problem there?????

local boy Monday, 13 September 2010 04:09 AM

SL should debate over UK and US too.
