A large scale timber racket in the Sigiriya wild life reserve was shutdown and the main suspect arrested after the police had been ordered to investigate the matter by President Mahinda Rajapkasa

A raid was carried out by the Sigiriya police after which the suspect had fled the scene leaving behind equipment used to chop and process timber. The suspect was eventually caught and stores of wooden planks have been confiscated by the police. (Daily Mirror online)

In this country Police has forgotten what there duties are. It seems that wait for the President to instruct them to carry out their lawful duties.
