Thunder showers and localized strong winds are expected in the latter parts of Sunday and Monday in the South-West region while the public is advised to take precautions from lighting, the Meteorological Department told Daily Mirror online.

Meanwhile around 72 families were affected due to the heavy rainfall experienced in Gampaha during the past 24 hours but no casualties or displacements were reported, Disaster Management Center said.
