Three dead after consuming illicit alcohol

Three persons from Moneragala have died due to consuming illicit alcohol while four others have been hospitalized.

According to Police, the group of seven men had consumed goda (a variety of illicit alcohol) while working in a field in the Atimale area of Moneragala. Upon falling ill, they had been immediately admitted to the Sirigala hospital where three had died and the others are currently receiving treatment.
