Sri Lanka made three changes to their line-up for the crucial third test in Colombo, which starts today, as Thilan Samaraweera, Suraj Randiv and Seekuge Prasanna were dropped, with Lahiru Thirimanne, Shaminda Eranga and Rangana Herath brought in.
The inclusion of Thirimanne will see captain Tillakaratne Dilshan bat down the order, while debutant Eranga will be part of the host’s three-pronged pace attack, along with Chanaka Welagedera and Suranga Lakmal.
Australia made one change, with Ricky Ponting returning to the team, at the expense of Usman Khawaja, but will bat at number 4, losing his number three spot to Shaun Marsh.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. (SMD)

Very bold. If Dilshan fails again in this test as Samaraweera, he must be removed from the test captaincy for the series against Pakistan since his recent form is on par with Samaraweera.

Good move, similarly should relieve dilshan of captaincy as it has effected his batting and he has proven he is not captaincy material. It's time to hand over it back to mahela or sanga, of course the board will have to go on their knees

Captaincy has certainly taken a toll on Dilsn's
batting ability. He is visibily trying to be extra
cautious. This is largely affecting his natural
batting potential. High time we releive him of
extra burden.
