Three arrested for Tangalle killing

Three people have been arrested in connection with the killing that took place in Tangalle yesterday. The main suspect, a local government politician of the Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha is still at large.

A foreigner had been stabbed to death. His wife is recieving treatment at the Karapitya General Hospital. (SD)

These local government Politian’s were harassing his wife for along time. when he tried to protect her this happened. Now all too common in SL. a women can’t go on da roads, people can’t go to night clubs with a women no discipline in the country. Lack of a strong police force present in all parts of the country & unwillingness to stand up to political thuggery main reasons! Very soon tourist will think of other safer destinations.

were the body-guards from the police or his private goon-army? Anyway why would a local govt politician need armed security. Innocent people with no connections are not safe when they go out because of these kind of puffed-up empty heads with little authority.

First of all shuld be reduce the minister posts from 145 to a normal 10 . And give them good power and responsibility.

i think goverment should give some precautionary notice to all foreigners coming to Sri Lanka , better to place this notice at Katunayake Airport in main languages like English , German and French so accordingly the visitors could avoid such tubulance, via vigilance.

apparently the victim was a british national of israeli origin who had been working in the gaza strip as an aid worker.

think about that. the palestinian territories were a lot safer than good old sri lanka, at least in the case of this british national
