Three airmen sustained burn injuries due to an explosion at the Kalpitiya Aircraft Weapons Testing Range, a short while ago.
The airmen were rushed to the Puttalam Hospital.
A team from the Air Force Headquarters has been sent to Kalpitiya to investigate the incident.
At the time of the incident no weapons were being tested.
Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Gihan Senerviratne speaking to Daily Mirror said that the airmen deals with explosives on a routine basis.
The test range comes under the Palavi Air Base. (Supun Dias)
