Mr Gunaratne! Don't forget. The Election is round the corner and this issue is a sure Vote Winner.
garawi Friday, 31 August 2012 02:31 PM
How come? Under your leadership the Rajapaksa clan and their supporters have one standard while the others have another! So what is the difference?
Supun Perera Friday, 31 August 2012 03:05 PM
They have proved this beyond any doubt. There is absolutely no law and order in the Country. They protect criminals, murderers, rapists and drug dealers etc. and using corrupt politisized Police Force , innocent are harrassed and punished. God save former democratic Sri Lanka.

No Action Talk Only in the Banana Republic of Sri Lanka!
Kalu Friday, 31 August 2012 04:15 PM
The government is set to crush the opposition in the coming elections and many more crucial ones that will take place later years to come. The detractors have no option but to spewing venom as usual to vent their frustrations of their enability to dislodge the people's government led by the brave President of Sri Lanka.
Its quite understandable their pain of mind.
Kalu Friday, 31 August 2012 04:28 PM
The white man has to pay for their sins and destruction of many countries.

Rohana Friday, 31 August 2012 06:25 PM
No country has time and money to waste on another country, unless that country is a head ache to the other countries and to it's own people. Please put your own house in order before pointing fingers at other countries talking bu.. sh.. wasting tax payer money. This is just another picnic for Govt. VIP's..
Saman Friday, 31 August 2012 06:54 PM
This is to moda Kalu. Isn't it the white man's English, computers and the education system that you are using now. Can you tell what is the education system we had before white man came. Yes you also should not play cricket, foot ball, basket ball, rugby etc..etc.. and Keep playing chak gudu, and batta, and elle. Also drink Kotta malli and not tea and coffee.
GSK Friday, 31 August 2012 02:19 PM
who is talking? SL is in the wrong direction! pls vacate soon !!
Ranil Friday, 31 August 2012 07:20 PM
Can your comments be applied to Iran's support of Hezbollah as well, or are those examples of your own double standards?
Dollar Boy Friday, 31 August 2012 07:52 PM
NON ALIGNMENT IS A JUST POW WOW , NO CLOUT ON THE WORLD AFFAIRS
Piranha Friday, 31 August 2012 09:17 PM
MR put his life on the line so that the can willy nilly take other people's lives to have absolute power for ever. MR is hypocrite and a criminal murderer. He is talking big while his country is going down the pan economically, socially and in every other way. Stop worshipping a man who is ruining your country and it's people.
raj Friday, 31 August 2012 11:08 PM
likewise, International community should not play double standard on war criminal
Pasel Saturday, 01 September 2012 01:40 AM
First show your effort not to show double stance with in the country treat all citizens same. then rest of them will fall in place
Lankan Saturday, 01 September 2012 01:43 AM
Mr. President, the residue of Prabakaran and the politicians with agenda are here and there. But the large majority is with you including all religions and races. You go strong and will fire them with the ballot and you will be elected democratically at every election to lead the country.
dgd Saturday, 01 September 2012 07:31 AM
How many years more must we remain grateful and quiet before protesting against the lawlessness and chaos gradually overcoming us?
raj Friday, 31 August 2012 09:07 AM
Practice what you preach.
Nero Friday, 31 August 2012 03:06 AM
In Sri Lanka there are different laws to different people.
Alwis Friday, 31 August 2012 03:31 AM
while claiming international community should support, he also has been accusing the same comminity of interfering with the internal affairs.
One cannot support proactively without interferring.
Calistus Jayatilleke Friday, 31 August 2012 04:35 AM
The so called Non-Aligned Movement has now lost its importance and become just a talk-shop. How could one classify countries like Iran as "non-aligned" and in fact, most of the members of this movement are aligned one way or the other to some super power.
Bandara Friday, 31 August 2012 04:52 AM
This is something that Tilak Karunaratna also said "meeting with stockmarket mafia was a one sided affair. It's worth only if you practice the same and show by example.
Imran Hussein Friday, 31 August 2012 05:50 AM
Wonder what this non-aligned achieved so far.
Its a dead horse. No point beating.
idiot Friday, 31 August 2012 06:34 AM
Please run your own country properly without dispensing advice to the rest of the world.
Jagath Leanage Friday, 31 August 2012 06:54 AM
First, you must have a clear stance before telling others to do so.
surain Friday, 31 August 2012 06:34 AM
Dear International community Ask from country people in Sri Lanka then we will let you know how one sided treatments are given to some people in the country. I feel those who talk and preach cannot practise what they say. hope countries are not deaf and blind to beleive
Game Kolla Friday, 31 August 2012 07:20 AM
Sri lanka is famous for double standard... one law for government supporters and another law for opposition supporters.
Silva Friday, 31 August 2012 07:48 AM
You must follow your advice first.
Gunaratne Friday, 31 August 2012 02:36 AM
"SL has gained many victories while achieving millennium development goals"--- Exactly what are these. Is not a meagre 6% increase to education from GDP a realistic goal for future rather than the rhetoric of imaginary 'millennium' goals to mislead international community.
Barath Friday, 31 August 2012 09:23 AM
The theme for this summit and objectives of the NAM if they are still viable, not matching with its stance intended. Sri Lankan President is aware of the famous 'Subhashitha' advise, one moon shines brighter than billion stars. Sri Lanka need that brighter decision.
Indian Friday, 31 August 2012 09:41 AM
This comments gave me intension like.... SINHALAYO MODAYO.....
Bagalawathie Friday, 31 August 2012 10:05 AM
Looks like many people have forgotten what it was like before the war was finished. People, please remember how it was like about three years ago. Please don't be so ungrateful, because MR put his whole life on the line to save this country.
Vattakka Friday, 31 August 2012 10:06 AM
You are the biggest Double Standard I have ever seen.....One day you will say Law and Order is same for everyone...next day you will be silent when one of your party member get involved in an illegal act....
Nodrog Friday, 31 August 2012 10:42 AM
Yeah MR....first practice what you preach and remember charity begins at home (by 'home' I mean the whole of Sri Lanka not just your home)
telly Friday, 31 August 2012 11:04 AM
very interesting that the president of a banana republic talk about double standard. every thing is free for first family rajapaksa and Mps of the SLFP and gang. punnakku for the people of sri lanka. even white man in sri lanka have to pay 75 times more(3600 Rs.) to visit sigiriya or polonnaruwa. someone who is a dictator of a Banana republic like sri lanka schouldnt talk about law and right.
lal Friday, 31 August 2012 12:08 PM
Well said, Mr President. the international community is full of hypocricy. Thank you for saving the country from going to the dogs and terrorists. The terrorists are all but gone, but judging by the cooments field, there are a few barking pariahs around.
MagodisThuma Friday, 31 August 2012 12:16 PM
What about the double stance of Sri Lankan Politics ?
Mason Friday, 31 August 2012 12:06 PM
Should not say one thing to the public and another to the UN, Indian Delegation etc.
