The 1.5 millionth tourist arrives in SL

Sri Lanka Tourism today welcomed the arrival of 1,500,000th tourist for the year 2014 at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

Sri Lanka Tourism officials including Managing Director Rumy Jauffer and representatives from travel and tourism industry warmly welcomed Torence Jimmy, who arrived with Qupika Hedwig, via UL 558 Sri Lankan Airlines flight from German, as the 1.5 millionth tourist in 2014 to Sri Lanka.(Deepa Adhikari)

    Yes this is absolutely true, where are these tourist staying? the tourist board used to collect monthly occupancy statistics from hotels, this is no longer practised so it is not actual tourist figures shown here.
