Tension in Kiribathgoda

A tense situation arose in Kiribathgoda last night after a relative of a youth who was taken custody, died while on his way to the police station. Police claim the man who was on his way to visit the youth in custody died of a heart-attack.

The relative of the youth who had been arrested for possessing drugs had a heart attack while he was on his way to the police station to see the suspect and had later died on admission to the hospital, said the OIC of the Kiribathgoda police station.

The youth had later been handed over to his parents. (Daily Mirror online)
