Tense situation in Welikada

A tense situation prevailed in the Welikada prison when STF personnel attempted to search the prison premises, police sources said.

Sources also said that tear gas was fired in order to bring the situation under control.

    The guards should be fired or jailed for allowing illegal items to be smuggled into the prisons.
