Ten suspects including a Pradeshiya Sabha member who were wanted for abducting and assaulting three persons who were in police custody at the Yatawatte check point in Matale have been remanded by the Matale Magistrate.
The suspects were wanted by the police for abducting the three persons who were in police custody at the time, SP Preshantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online. The suspects had reportedly abducted the three victims and assaulted them after tying them up to an electricity pole.
The suspects who were wanted since Wednesday, had surrendered to the police and were later remanded till September 2nd by the Matale Magistrate. (Daily Mirror online)
