This guy was married with two children. He shot another women and took his life without thinking about the future of his own children. This is a utter selfish guy. He seemed to be wanted the best of both worlds, but can't face the reality. Shame on this man. The teacher should be commended for her guts. She had the strength to refuse this man (if this episode was about a love triangle). It hurts everyone involved, my heart goes out for this lady, now she has to face lots of brick bats from judgmental people in our society.

Please dont comment on professions here in this regard. Definitely fault of both but male behaviour is psychic murderer.
Good thinking, good behaviours & spiritual activities push down the crimes. I think it'll never happen in Lanka.

Why blame the teachers? They are also human beings like any body else and have every right to live in this country

Don't expect only them to be super human and others who criticize them to live like scum bags.

What sort of love affair is this between married persons? Some thing wrong here, but the society rejects elderly teachers also.

Why did he shoot a teacher instead of a politician?

Sri Lankan Thursday, 23 September 2010 05:36 AM

Without knowing the real issue we can't blame the teacher..

saman amarapala Thursday, 23 September 2010 05:41 AM

This shows the reality of majority of teachrs. They should behave well in the society. Relavent authority should be pay attention for the morality of teachers'. first teach the teachers and then teach the children.

Podi Guru Thursday, 23 September 2010 05:51 AM

Why do you automatically assume that the teacher has behaved immorally? Is it because the teacher is a female? Thus far, the only thing we seem to know is that the man behaved immorally. Maybe she rejected the man's advances because she is married or committed to another person? We don't know and we should not speculate and cast blame.

Please do not come to conclutions without knowing the real facts

Moratu Puthek Thursday, 23 September 2010 05:59 AM

First the politicians should be thought how to behave. When it comes to lovce life even the teachers are human beings. They are also made of flesh, blood and bones.
First the law makers the politicians should set an example.

    shanthi Thursday, 23 September 2010 06:01 AM

Saman , majority of the teachers they think that they know every thing , there only they make the mistake , their life is only with the students , teaching and tution , there is no social gathering for them to get to know the world.

    sltk2004 Thursday, 23 September 2010 06:14 AM

@shanthi: What do you mean "teachers have to be more example and also to be more diciplined? They should not cry out in pain when they are shot and they should not run away when a killer is trying to shoot them ? Is it the fault of the teacher that this man shot her? Do you mean something like that ? Just read the news item carefully - does it say any bad part about the teacher ?

    sltk2004 Thursday, 23 September 2010 06:15 AM

@saman amarapal: So it is the fault of the teacher that she got shot ?

    Lam Thursday, 23 September 2010 06:19 AM

here a teacher is a victim you all are blaming teachers for a crime committed by an outsider.

    citizen1 Thursday, 23 September 2010 06:23 AM

The man is unstable and doesn't have the tools in his brain to deal with rejection, imagine if everyone shot a person each time they were heat broken?!
Why blame the teacher? She had a narrow escape from a maniac!

Sri Lankan Thursday, 23 September 2010 06:26 AM

Majority of teachers are tiring hard to do their best for the students. but please do not blame teachers on this issue. From government side they do not get proper guidance & support. I personally know that lot of teachers have not been granted their increments yet.

Sri Lankan Thursday, 23 September 2010 06:28 AM

Mr.Saman, Do you think Teachers are machines. They also human beings... Please do fair when you comment.

it's the killing that is getting out of hand!

    manjula Thursday, 23 September 2010 07:06 AM

shanthi, read the news first. why do you think that this teacher has done some bad thing. some crazy people out there thinks that if they love someone, that other person also should love them back whether they like it or not. So you can not decide by this news whether this teacher has done something wrong. So don;t insult teachers before knowing fact.
