One of the reasons TB spreading fast is due to the non-availability of the drug prescribed for TB with private druggists. It may be that the government wants to ensure that the dosage is properly administered but I have heard a lot of patients lamenting over this that those working in these outlets are lethargic and sometimes patients have to spend the whole day to get them examined and collect their dosage. The Health Department has to take a serious view of this problem.

Its time for the Authorities concerned to act fast. This is a violation of human rights, although it relates to prisoners. State and the State Officials would be subject to payment of heavy componsation for the damage caused due to their neglegent acts (if any) enabling to spread TB among the inmates. The Officials could also be charged under the provisions of the penal code as contributing to the spread of such a decease.
