Tattooed British tourist to leave today

The British tourist, who was arrested and ordered to be deported Court for sporting a tattoo of the Buddha on her arm, is expected to leave the country after being held at the Mirihana Detention camp.
 
Naomi Coleman, a resident of Coventry in England was arrested two days ago and detained at the Mirihana Detention camp.
 
"It was a hellish experience, I was kept with criminals, I am a practicing Buddhist and meditate, I have been to Sri Lanka twice before and to Buddhist country's like Cambodia and Thailand but this is the first time I've ever experienced this sort of treatment or behavior," she told Daily Mirror Online.
 
Tourist Board Officials visited her at the detention camp and informed her that a ticket has been purchased for her return to England. (Hafeel Farisz)

    This is bad for tourism. The issue could have been handled more diplomatically. Also, foreign missions should be notified that sri lanka doesn't entertain such tourists. The image created overseas on this issue doesn't augur well for sri lanka.

    I feel ashamed of what happened this tourist. A practicing woman with a tattoo on hand is something we should have admired instead of punishing. Very bad approach and punishment. If something like this happens to me in another country, I would never visit that place again.

    First thanks to all who commented, I think we have mix up personal thgs with social , we should have look it at diffrent angle cz most of europeans and rest of the world have a tatoo cz they like it so much, it means to them lot , unlike srilankans ll have a tatoo cz somone got it or its cool to have a tatoo, thtz our culture not their :(
