Suicide attempt

A man who had been sentenced to death by the Jaffna High Court today attempted suicide by jumping off the second floor of the Court complex.

The man had been sentenced to death for murdering his son, and attempted the suicide while he was being escorted to the prison vehicle.

The convict is in critical condition and is receiving treatment at the Jaffna hospital.  (Daily Mirror online)

    + Even though people are sentenced to death, they are not killed in our country. They are kept in prison, for life!
