A student who was scheduled to sit for her Advanced Level examination at Girl’s High School Kandy was found gagged and tied in a room according to the Kandy police.
The student was reportedly permitted to sit for the exam 45 minutes after the examination commenced after receiving a special permission from the Examination Commissioner.
Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Central region said that investigations are been carried out into the incident.

If there is an enquiry, she might give in writing that she tied herself to the chair to support other students!

This just shows the callous jealousy that rages in some Buddhist hearts of this thrice cursed land.

Even if she sat for the exam she wouldn't have performed in her full capacity. Examination Commissioner should make a special consideration for her and re-evaluate her.

May be she tied herself up

Can't this be something fishy or making up things?. Those days LTTE theology ordered their pals not to answer structured question papers and loyal paper markers ensured university entrance by filling those blank sheets.

One cannot expect her to perform well, at the exam, after such an ordeal.

What a tragedy. It is good that she was allowed to sit for the exam later. But, what about her mental condition after facing such a dreadful indecent. Definitely it should have affected her performance at the exam. Culprit/s should be brought to justice and give the maximum punishment available in the law.
Roshan Thursday, 12 August 2010 05:22 AM
Although she sat for the exam, what about the mental distress she had undergone, definitely this could have affected her while answering the paper. She can easily identify the culprit unless she had been threaten.

Culprit should be punished severly. What will happen to her future if she was not found timely. presume this was done due to jealousy.

Schocked to see that student tuggery has reached such an extent! We hear that this was an excellent student and that almost all were jealous of her. While the perpetrators should be severely punished for this shameful act, the teachers too should be penalised (including the Principal) for negligence in their supervisory roles!
