Police asked to provide security to Upul

Colombo Fort Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today ordered the Colombo Central SSP to provide security to Sri Lanka Bar Association (BASL) President Upul Jayasuriya until August 11.

Earlier, Law and Order Ministry’s Secretary Nanda Mallawaarachchi was noticed to appear in Court when the motion filed by Mr. Jayasuriya was taken up for hearing.

Mr. Mallawaarachchi is out of the country and as such the SSP was directed to provide security to Mr. Jayasuriya until this matter was taken up with Mr. Mallawaarachchi on his return on August 11. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda and Farook Thajudeen)

If gvt has any will to protect the low and order in this country.
they'd have resolved this issue over night.but unfortunately
they do not want.we need a change .

waste of public resources which can be used for a better investment in the country. How if all people request for police protection. BASL is not specific or realistic

The Government and the Police Department are hardheaded and refuse to provide security to Learned Groups, we Public support the learned groups than the Matta Racketeer Groups.
