Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa has agreed to investigate the attack on UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara just prior to the recent General Elections following a request made by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayaka in Parliament today.
Bandara was allegedly assaulted by a group led by another UNP member as a result of which he suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized. (KB&YP)

What about the probe by the UNP?

When he didn't get the justice from his own party, he is searching for it from the government and ends up in the government as well.

Isnt this an internal matter? This speaker is a govt speaker. Damage is for UNP only regardless of whichever side he is going to 'favour'

UNP cannot manage its own affairs

But the request was made by Ravi Karunanayake.. He is full UNP. This is a heavy puzzle.. Can anyone please explain it to me. Also I feel that this might lead to a favourable report to the government, so that they can take Range Bandara. This seems to be a conspiracy. Bandara will find enough reasons to leave the party.... In fact he is a valuable person for UNP.

It is the opposition which makes the ruling party more powerful. and commanding. Oh poor masses. no one to talk about their poor issues.

This is not an "Internal matter" . It's a crime against another citizen of the country. SL Police (who claimed reacently that they are efficent & honest) should probe and take the case to the courts. It is not for UNP lawyers to have an investigation.

Good move speaker, 3rd class behavior should not happen anymore in Sri Lanka, its not about the party but about the Sri Lankan citizen, if Ranil and the Psycho Tissa can not protect their own buddy how can you expect them to protect an ordinary citizen? Just being a gentleman is not good enough.

How can people elect Ranil to rule the country, when Gentleman himself doesn't how to rule the party and its affairs, what a sad situ in this Grand old party

Dear Banda,
Why don't you crossover to government.
Your grievances will be looked at immediately.
How long have you been telling this to UNP.
Don't you now realize that they are deaf elephants.
