Speaker in dilemma over Opposition Leader post

In the wake of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) joining hands with the government, Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa said today he was also in a dilemma regarding the opposition leader post, and that he would give his ruling in the near future.

The Speaker made such remarks after Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), National Freedom Front (NFF), Mahajana Eksath Peramuna (MEP) and Frontline Socialist Party MP Ajitha Kumara raised the matter in the House.

JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake who rose first said the party commanding the majority within the opposition had always took the chance to appoint the Opposition Leader right throughout. (KB & YP)
