Minister Rajitha Senaratne said today that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) MPs would join hands with the government today signifying a historical turning point in Sri Lankan politics.

Several SLFP parliamentarians will join the Government today to form a unity government, Minister Senaratne said at a meeting held in Kalutara.

However when the Daily Mirror contacted SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, he said that the party had not taken a decision on it yet and they were to meet the President later today.(Rathnasiri Premalal)
