The Sri Lanka Freedom Party Mahajana Wing led by Parliamentarian Mangala Samaraweera was officially dissolved this morning. The General Secretary of the Mahajana wing, Upulanganie Malagama said that the decision was taken at the Central Committee meeting held today at the Rajagiriya office.

“Leader of the Mahajana wing Mangala Samaraweera and the majority members of the wing will join the United National Party officially on Friday morning at the UNP headquarters” she said.

Mangala has done the right thing by joining the UNP outright. Alone with his SLFP (M) he could never have been able to have an impact. Whatever Mangala was and whatever he did in the past, his is a strong voice and will be good for the flagging opposition.

I am not against the government dont get me wrong they are doing a lot of good things. But the opposition of the country should also be good to balance things out. to Stop people like Wimal and Mervin doing there own thing.
