RamUK Saturday, 20 October 2012 12:44 PM
sorry state of few individuals still live in a bubble. Good move by govt we should give credit where its due
samosa Saturday, 20 October 2012 01:27 PM
Whole Sri Lanka knows KP was the main arm dealer, do you think government interlligents doesn't have any evidence against him? If we assumed there is no evidence against him, why the heck we arrested him by going all the way to Malaysia?
RamUK Saturday, 20 October 2012 01:38 PM
do not worry Thomas ppl marking (-) ve are the ppl profitted by the war and the division . they do not want the problems to be sorted .
Lanka Liar Saturday, 20 October 2012 02:59 PM
KP had the tiger millions. He gave them all to you know who. That is why he is released. There is no political move. Other will suffer. The war will be kept going as long as there is money in it for some.
Lobo Saturday, 20 October 2012 03:20 PM
It's the diaspora that lives in a Utopian bubble where eelam is a reality....or wet dream!
Nodrog Saturday, 20 October 2012 03:23 PM
If the diaspora are not citizens of SL then they should have no say what so ever.
joshan Saturday, 20 October 2012 04:02 PM
Unless there is genuine, honest and transparent reconciliation nothing will convince the international community and the majority Sinhalese let alone the diaspora.
The TRUTH was never spoken and until this is done, it is impossible to convince anyone. My friends & family (in South) know nothing about the casualties, the deaths and the consequences of the war to date. Unless we realise what happened and take responsibility for the mistakes made in the past, I don't see a peaceful reconciliation in our country.
Union Saturday, 20 October 2012 05:00 PM
Government has to tame diaspora to cover up its war crime. We shoud be mindful of the fact that day by day Sri Lankangovernment is loosing its former allies and getting exposed its duplicity.
Sri Saturday, 20 October 2012 12:13 PM
Talking through his rear side! Recipe for no solution to keep the old fires alive to win elections!!! Taking others to be fools.
sg Saturday, 20 October 2012 05:41 PM
A puzzle craeting that why government planining to abolish Provincial council system????
Saskia Saturday, 20 October 2012 11:38 PM
I kindly request our Sinhalese brothers and sisters to support to push the government to do the war crime investigation. Please help the victim's family to get justice.
Nodrog Sunday, 21 October 2012 04:59 AM
...and day by day morons like you emerge with idiotic theories on the issues at hand. Anyway, thank you for your opinion.
Naman Saturday, 20 October 2012 09:13 AM
KP is enjoying the freedom after paying his captors.
It is totally wrong to keep ex-tigers still in prison .
It is not correct to keep Army in great numbers in the north and east
patriot Saturday, 20 October 2012 03:06 AM
impossible without any political solution
Thomas Saturday, 20 October 2012 03:37 AM
Very good move by GOSL, proceed with vigor and finish this problem once and for all
Thomas Ranger Saturday, 20 October 2012 03:51 AM
The Government has no viable strategies for anything and this joker is only crying for his milk. What makes these fools believe that KP is on their side now. Understand that the diaspora gave millions of dollars to KP as chief procurator and it will happen again.
Malin Saturday, 20 October 2012 04:35 AM
Useless attempt by GoSL. The LTTE activists of the expatraites Tamils will not want anything short of Tamil Eelam.
Malin Saturday, 20 October 2012 04:37 AM
ONly way out is repealing the 13th Amendment by two third majority and a referendum.
meenavan Saturday, 20 October 2012 04:58 AM
Put forward the political solution....do not make unwanted statements.
singing fish Saturday, 20 October 2012 07:45 AM
unless the war crime is investigated by an international body and the perpetrators are punished, the diaspora will not accept a dialogue with the goverment whoever the perpetrators maybe.
Vicks Saturday, 20 October 2012 07:57 AM
UN Review does a lot of wonders..... The Government is not at all interested in sorting any problems. Keeping the Tamil issue alive is critical to divert the attention of people.
Nodrog Saturday, 20 October 2012 03:00 AM
Seems like the govt has got the tiger by the tail....
king Saturday, 20 October 2012 09:11 AM
people and media men should sue this guy for the way this guy answers questions.. irresponsible and a liar !
Saskia Saturday, 20 October 2012 09:50 AM
Well said. Without war crime investigation and until the perpetrators from top to bottom are not punished, there will be no talk and reconciliation possible.
I ask the sinhalees sist
Mansoor Saturday, 20 October 2012 10:23 AM
It is a good move! Tamil Diaspora is non-state entity but they are members of the Sri Lankan society. They should accommodate into the state system as a stakeholders of the post-war solution. Anyhow, this initiative can compromise through the efforts of the final solution for the ethnic conflict of Sri Lanka in the basis of state reform.
Medusa Saturday, 20 October 2012 10:41 AM
This explains the clean slate KP's got!!!!
Cheap Indian Saturday, 20 October 2012 11:32 AM
Vicks....you must be a suck up to the family run country....
Iqbal Saturday, 20 October 2012 11:32 AM
KP is within the country and as such at the mercy of the Defense establishment whereas the Diaspora is free to talk and gather facts from within and out of the grip. The best people to have 'dialogue' is the elected representatives of Tamils.
RamUK Saturday, 20 October 2012 11:37 AM
Lucky there not many of your kind left in SL very good move by MR all are sri lankans one for all and all for one nation.Kick fundamentalist out of SL in both side
Ranjan Saturday, 20 October 2012 11:53 AM
At least the govt must give back the properties Tamil people owned in the North and the East and now converted into HSZs and Army camps. 25% of the Jaffna peninsula is designated as HSZ. Almost all fertile land in the Vanni has been taken over by the forces and converted into HSZs. Please give peoples land, give them assistance to rebuild their lives, stop interfering into their day to day lives. The forces should not run civilian administration. It must be left to the people living there. This is the first step towards reconciliation.
