A minor earth tremor hit the Siyambalanduwa area at around 5 30 am today, the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau said.

Dr. N.P. Wijayananda Chairman of the bureau told Daily Mirror the low scale tremor has been recorded at the Pallekele and Hakmana monitoring stations.

“There is no reason to panic; it’s of a very minimal nature. No damages have been reported,” he said.
