Parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka, speaking at a press briefing at the Parliament complex a short while ago, said that the UNP needs to change its policies if the DNA is to consider joining forces with the UNP.

Fonseka also said that he had anticipated the recent ruling by the Court Martial against him and is expecting to end up in jail any time soon.

DNA not invited by UNP,so why is Fonseka trying to latch on? This poll has a bad mouth and any poll with a bad mouth is a liability not a asset as Fonseka, wife and daughter think.

    kalumnsu Thursday, 19 August 2010 11:54 AM

This is not fair what gournment doing. KP should put in to the jail. not fonseka.

    Rathanavali Thursday, 19 August 2010 12:01 PM

Bluff Bluff Thursday, 19 August 2010 02:37 PM

All must change and unite. It is the need of the hour. Think of the country and your duty by your people.

Gayan Samarasekara Thursday, 19 August 2010 10:04 AM

But any merge is not needed at the moment. A fresh alliance near an election could have a better impact.

    Mahadanamutta Thursday, 19 August 2010 03:41 PM

Well said Sri . We are with you!

    Dhiren Thursday, 19 August 2010 04:04 PM

Shaik Anwar Ahamath Thursday, 19 August 2010 04:22 PM

In political terms SF has not been there 5 minutes and he is prescribing cures to veterans. He must have an inflated ego.

    dilshan Thursday, 19 August 2010 10:20 AM

    Well .........DNA is Neglectable ...

    srilankan Thursday, 19 August 2010 04:32 PM

HOw can you trust UNP? Those 2 MPs who produced false statements against Gen Fonseka are the traitors.

    thusi Thursday, 19 August 2010 10:22 AM

Now DNA is advising the UNP.....WOW....

king kong Thursday, 19 August 2010 10:23 AM

    Maruwa Thursday, 19 August 2010 10:41 AM

If the merge is necessary to get your majority, go ahead. We need a good leader.

    Citizen Thursday, 19 August 2010 10:44 AM

i think UNP and DNA's ideologies are poles apart.

tom cruse jr Thursday, 19 August 2010 10:45 AM

Gen it's Sajith who will be next Pdent of SL.

Kamal Nissanka Thursday, 19 August 2010 08:33 PM

Ibnu Batuta Thursday, 19 August 2010 10:50 AM

    Sue Friday, 20 August 2010 08:38 AM

DNA maybe, but SF is not

    shanthapriya Thursday, 19 August 2010 11:18 AM

CHANGE THE POLICIES THE WAY I WANT. UNP MUST BE READY TO DO ANY BAD THING TO CATCH THE POWER. LIKE THE WAY I DID AT THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

    Rohan Thursday, 19 August 2010 11:25 AM

Who is DNA to advise UNP ? From the day 1 Fonseka had over estimated himself. DNA will be like another LSSP.

    Prasanga Thursday, 19 August 2010 11:26 AM

Yes Guru..... that's exactly correct. UNP must prepare to change their policies according the criminal mind of the DNA and ready to take Weapons into their hands.1971....1989 when will be the next?

    gona Friday, 20 August 2010 09:02 AM

Considerable faith is placed on SP to lead the UNP in the future. One only has to look back at his father's tenure and wonder why. Over 60,000 lost their lives, endless numbers who opposed him dissappeared, Prominent cabinet ministers bought farms in Australia, a levy was paid on every bag of cement imported and then it goes on and on.

    MK Thursday, 19 August 2010 11:35 AM

How about DNA also changing its policies too?

    Yeti Thursday, 19 August 2010 11:41 AM

Let us hope so. Sri Lanka's hope lies with him.
