A youth alleged to have sexually harassed a woman by sending obscene picture messages through Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) to her mobile phone was remanded till August 1 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate today.
The woman, a resident of Colombo 2 had complained to the Slave Island police that an anonymous caller had repeatedly harassed her by sending obscene MMS messages in sexually explicit and offensive language. The victim had further complained that the suspect had used criminal force on her with intent to outrage her modesty.
The Slave Island police had begun investigations into the telephone number that was believed to have been used by the suspect. Accordingly, the suspect a resident of Slave Island was arrested by the police and produced before Magistrate Ms. Lanka Jayaratne.
Police charged that the suspect had taken the victim’s telephone number from a communication centre located in the same area. The suspect had noted down her number from the reload order book at the communication centre.
Police further charged that the suspect had committed a punishable offence under section 58 of Sri Lanka Telecommunications Act (No. 25 of 1991) and section 345 of the Penal Code.
Considering the seriousness of the offence, the Magistrate ordered that the suspect be remanded till August 1.

yes. The government authorities should take strong actions against kids who send nude pics to girls phones. Anybody who is doing those things should be informed to the police and send them to the jail.
