Seven soldiers injured in accident

At least seven soldiers were injured when their truck skidded off the road and crashed into a Kitul tree at Bulagala in Dambulla in the early hours today, police said.

Police said the tree fell onto the army truck when the vehicle crashed into the tree. The army truck was heading from Chundikulam Army post in Jaffna to Anuradhapura at the time of the incident.

The injured soldiers were rushed to the Dambulla hospital for treatment, police added. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
