Amid continuous “threats of war” from North Korea, South Korea today asked Sri Lanka to stay calm over the safety of its more than 25,000 workers, saying Seoul was maintaining full preparedness for possible nuclear strikes from Pyongyang.
“There are around 230,000 foreign workers in Korea including 25,000 Sri Lankans, and they are valuable contributors to the Korean economy as well as to bilateral relations between Korea and their origin countries,” Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Mr Jongmoon Choi said in a statement here.
He said the Korean government cares about their safety in case of emergencies and has established safety measures to secure the safety of foreigners.
North Korea continues its threats of war against the Republic of Korea and its ally.
It declared the denunciation of the Armistice Agreement and 'a state of war' against the Republic of Korea.
The Ambassador said that it is only natural that the international community is concerned about the threats of North Korea.
“However, we don't see any unusual military movement on the part of the North, and there is no sign that the North is actually preparing military attack.
“I hope the people and the government of Sri Lanka can stand calm with the Republic of Korea and join the international community in sending a firm and constant message to North Korea that it should make a right choice, instead of going into a way of isolation,” the South Korean embassy here asserts. Let's analyze this North Korean Problem. On the one hand North Korea "may" have a single nuclear bomb that "might" be able to be delivered and "might" be able to hit the target it actually aims at instead of some mistaken target --- like Beijing.... Lol !!!!!! On the other hand, the US has 7,000 nuclear bombs !!!!!!!! it can unleash with precise accuracy from missile silos in the US; from missile frigates at sea; from submarines at sea all over the world; or from stealth bombers, B-52 bombers, and B2's. So North Korea, how would you like to end your country's existence ???????
