The polling agents of the political parties and independent groups will be permitted to paste a sticker inside the ballot boxes at the time of sealing it at the polling station in order to avoid allegations of poll rigging.
Assistant Elections Commissioner Trincomalee M.M.Nishantha Dinipriya said the polling agents should paste the sticker when the empty ballot boxes are sealed and handover a specimen of the sticker.
Assistant Elections Commissioner said the polling agents at the counting centers will be allowed to check the stickers belonging to their political party when the ballot boxes are opened.

It is good to have some control to check those unscrupulous who try to steal the public opinion on their favour but if the government is not sincere to follow the rule of law all the controls that are employed to restrict poll rigging will be exploited to its favour. Nothing is good enough without the independant commissions empowered.
