The journalism and business studies faculty at the Trincomalee University has been closed with immediate effect following an incident at the faculty where students had attempted to attack a lecturer and cut power at the rector’s office.

University Rector N. Logeswaran told Daily Mirror online that students of the faculty residing in the hostel have been told to vacate the hostel premises immediately.

The University Board will decide when to reopen the faculty again.

Re the first comment, LTTE did not believe in education or any other civilised way of advancement. At least the dogs are still about but the LTTE has gone to the grave. Nirmeli good luck if you still support them.
